{"id":510,"date":"2023-05-17T05:48:33","date_gmt":"2023-05-17T05:48:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bibleholyghost.com\/?p=510"},"modified":"2023-05-17T05:49:57","modified_gmt":"2023-05-17T05:49:57","slug":"reasons-why-god-is-not-blessing-your-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bibleholyghost.com\/index.php\/2023\/05\/17\/reasons-why-god-is-not-blessing-your-life\/","title":{"rendered":"REASONS WHY GOD IS NOT BLESSING YOUR LIFE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">Are you looking around at other believers \u2018lives and feeling \u201cSkipped over\u201d when it comes to God\u2019s blessings?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">We know from the scripture that God is a good God who loves to bless His children.&nbsp; <strong>Matthew 7:11<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, God knows our hearts, our capabilities, and what\u2019s around the corner for us, so if He chooses not to bless in a certain area, that might even be a blessing in itself.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Here are some reasons God might not be blessing your life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You haven\u2019t asked for the blessing.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How many times do we get disgruntled at God because He hasn\u2019t provided for us when we haven\u2019t taken the time to even ask Him for what we specifically need?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sure, God knows our needs.&nbsp; But He wants a relationship with us in which we come to Him, in faith, and ask for what we need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scripture says, \u201c<strong><em>You do not have because you do not ask God<\/em><\/strong>\u201d <strong>James 4:2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Jesus told his followers. \u201c<strong><em>Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.&nbsp; Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete\u201d <\/em>John 16:24.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start asking specifically and see what God wants to teach you about asking, trusting, and being thankful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You haven\u2019t asked in faith<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are asking God for blessings and He\u2019s still not answering that prayer, it could be that you are not asking in faith, truly believing He will answer.&nbsp; Jesus told his followers <strong>\u201c<em>Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.\u201d<\/em> Matthew 21: 22 <em>and whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours\u201d<\/em> Mark 11:24<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus said, \u201c<strong><em>Everything is possible to the one who believes.\u201d<\/em> Mark 9:23<\/strong>. If you\u2019re having trouble believing that, ask Him to help your unbelief.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus honored the sincerity of the man who asked for something and followed it up with <strong>\u201c<em>Help me overcome my unbelief!\u201d<\/em>&nbsp; Mark 9:24<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You\u2019re asking with the wrong motives<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have you ever wondered why God doesn\u2019t answer people\u2019s prayers to win the lottery? <strong>James 4:3<\/strong> gives us insight: \u201c<strong><em>When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Try asking God for blessings that will help you bless others.&nbsp; Or try asking Him to bless others first, rather than yourself<strong>.&nbsp; Psalm 37:4<\/strong> says, \u201c<strong><em>Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; If He is your desire and your delight, it will delight His heart to grant your desires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You\u2019re all about you<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-purple-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">A man was complaining about why God wasn\u2019t blessing Him.&nbsp; He recounted one unfortunate situation after another and, in a tone of bitterness, expressed his utter disappointment in God.&nbsp; His references were only <strong><em>\u201cI \u201c\u201cme, and \u201cmy\u201d<\/em><\/strong><em>.<\/em>&nbsp; He never asked what he could do to please God, only complained about how God hadn\u2019t pleased him.&nbsp; He didn\u2019t talk about his obedience or any desire he had to be a child whose Father would be pleased to bless him.&nbsp; He never even talked about a Father-child relationship with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God is not obligated to bless any of us.&nbsp; If you\u2019re all about yourself, and what God is or isn\u2019t giving you, God might be choosing not to bless your life until you become all about Him <strong>Luke 9:23<\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp; When you die to self (<strong>Galatians 2:20)<\/strong> your focus won\u2019t be on whether or not you\u2019re being blessed, but how to be a blessing to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>There is an unconfessed sin in your life<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">Are you praying for the blessing of a job? A promotion?&nbsp; Success in a certain endeavor?&nbsp;&nbsp; If there is an unconfessed sin in your life, it could be affecting your relationship with God and affecting His handout of blessings.&nbsp; God is all about relationships.&nbsp; So, if He\u2019s not the blessing, perhaps the relationship is strained through disobedience in your life or habitual sin that you are not surrendering to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">After instructing believers to pray with the right motives, James instructs, \u201c<strong><em>Submit yourselves, then, to God.&nbsp; Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.&nbsp; Come near to God and he will come near you.&nbsp; Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.&nbsp; Grieve, mourn, and wail.&nbsp; Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; James seems to imply that as we get the relationship right with God, and maintain a level of humility, the blessings \u2013 or promotions \u2013 will flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You are being directly impacted by someone else\u2019s sin<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-pink-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">If you are being responsible and obedient with your money and yet God is not blessing you, financially, you might want to look at the behavior and spending habits of anyone else who shares your bank account.&nbsp; God doesn\u2019t punish us for the sins of others, but we sometimes share the consequences of sin or irresponsibility with those who are closely connected to us.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-pink-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">The Bible is full of warnings about the consequences of unhealthy associations.&nbsp; For instance, <strong>Proverbs 22 24-25<\/strong> warns \u201c<strong><em>Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; <strong>Psalm 101<\/strong> is a good example for us to pray for integrity in all our dealings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong><em>My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk s blameless will minister to me.&nbsp; No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence\u201d verses 6-7<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>God\u2019s timing is different from yours<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ecclesiastes 3:1<\/strong> assures us: <strong>\u201cThere is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the Heavens.\u201d <\/strong>I believe that includes a season for blessings.&nbsp; God may want you to wait and grow in dependence on Him before he gives you something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scripture also tells us that God\u2019s ways are perfect and His Word is flawless. <strong>Psalm 18:30.&nbsp; <\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;That means He knows when it\u2019s the right time for us to receive certain blessings and when it\u2019s not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>He wants you to be persistent<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have you become discouraged or given up when it comes to receiving certain blessings?&nbsp; Maybe you haven\u2019t been persistent enough.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <strong>Luke 18: 1-8<\/strong>, Jesus told his disciples a parable,\u201d <strong><em>To show them that they should always pray and not give up.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> <strong>Verse 1<\/strong>.&nbsp; Because God is more concerned about a relationship with you than giving handouts, He may simply want you to persist in prayer.&nbsp; Don\u2019t give up.&nbsp; The blessing may be right around the corner.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>What you are asking for isn\u2019t truly good for you<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">Scripture tells us: \u201cEvery good and perfect gift is from above, coming soon from the Father of the Heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows\u201d James 1: 17.&nbsp; But sometimes we haven\u2019t stopped to consider if what we are asking or expecting from God is truly good and perfect for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Psalm 84:11<\/strong> assures us \u201c<strong><em>For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good things does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; That shielding aspect of God\u2019s character might be protecting us from something we\u2019re asking God for that isn\u2019t necessarily God\u2019s best for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">In that case, what we assume is a blessing might not be a \u201cgood thing\u201d for us, after all.&nbsp;&nbsp; Trust God with what you don\u2019t see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>He is blessing you.&nbsp; You just haven\u2019t noticed.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">What do you consider a blessing?&nbsp; Something financially rewarding?&nbsp; Something that makes you happy?&nbsp; The fact that you have life, breath, and someone in your life who loves you are all blessings that He\u2019s given that you may have been taking for granted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ephesians 1:3<\/strong> says God has \u201c<strong><em>Blessed us in the Heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.\u201d <\/em><\/strong>The next <strong>11 verses<\/strong> describe, in detail, our eternal inheritance if we are trusting in Christ Jesus for our salvation.&nbsp;
