LUKE CHAPTER 12<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCRIPTURE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today I will summarize Luke chapter 12 where Luke wrote about Jesus teaching the people that God knows and cares for them and that they should stand ready and be waiting for his return.\u00a0 Where they should reject every form of greed and where Jesus promised division and fighting in the world because of him.\u00a0 Jesus taught the people about the father in heaven.\u00a0 He said, \u201cThe father is watching over all of you.\u00a0 Whatever you say in secret will be proclaimed on the housetops.\u00a0 So, say good things.\u00a0 Don\u2019t be afraid of those who can kill the body but cannot after doing anything worse.\u00a0 I will show you whom to fear.\u00a0 Fear God, who, after killing has the authority to throw you into hell.\u00a0 I tell you fear him.\u00a0 Jesus continued, \u201cWhoever declares publicly that he belongs to me, the son of man will do the same for him before the angels of God.\u00a0 But whoever rejects me publicly, the son of man will also reject him before the angels of God.\u00a0 Anyone who says a word against the son of man can be forgiven.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But whoever says evil against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.\u00a0 Jesus said, \u201cYou are loved by the father.\u201d\u00a0 Each one of your hairs is numbered.\u00a0 Don\u2019t worry about your life.\u00a0 About what you will eat or drink or wear.\u00a0 Life is more than food.\u00a0 Consider the Ravens and the Lilies.\u00a0\u00a0 They don\u2019t work but God feeds and clothes them.\u00a0 You are much more valuable than birds.\u00a0 Can you add a single hour to your life by worrying?\u00a0 If you can\u2019t do this very little thing.\u00a0 Why do you worry about other things?\u00a0 God will take of you.\u00a0 If you only seek first his kingdom.\u00a0 Don\u2019t be afraid of anything.\u00a0 The father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom because of this sell your possessions and give the money to the poor.\u00a0 Acquire treasure in heaven where no thief can steal and where moth can destroy.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where your treasure is your heart will be there also.\u00a0 Jesus continued.\u00a0 Keep your lamps lit and be dressed in readiness.\u00a0 Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast.\u00a0 So that they can immediately open the door to him when he knocks.\u00a0 If you are alert when I come back, I will serve you as you recline at my table and I will wait on you.\u00a0 Think with me.\u00a0 If someone knew what time a thief was coming to break in and steal in the middle of the night.\u00a0 That person in the house would be ready and they would stop the thief.\u00a0 You too be ready even though you don\u2019t know when I am returning.\u00a0 I am coming back at a time you will not expect.\u00a0 Blessed is that slave whom the master finds faithful when he comes back.\u00a0 He will put him in charge of all his possessions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But cursed is the slave whom the master finds unfaithful when he comes back.\u00a0 He will cut his body into pieces and throw his soul out with the unbelievers.\u00a0 Someone from the crowd yelled and said,\u201d Jesus tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.\u00a0 Jesus said, \u201cWho made me a judge over you?\u00a0 Beware and be on your guard against every form of greed.\u00a0 Let me tell you all a parable.\u00a0 A rich man had very productive land and he didn\u2019t know what to do with all of his grain.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man said to himself,\u201d I\u2019ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones.\u00a0 Then I\u2019ll retire since I won\u2019t have to work ever again.\u00a0\u00a0 I will eat and drink and I will be merry.\u00a0 God said to the rich man, \u201cYou fool! Tonight, your soul is required of you.\u00a0 Who will own what you have prepared?\u00a0\u00a0 So is the man who stores up treasure only for himself but is not rich towards God.\u00a0 Jesus told the crowd an incredibly shocking thing. \u00a0He said,\u201d I have come to cast fire on the earth.\u00a0 I did not come to grant peace.\u00a0 In this world, you will have troubles even in your household.\u00a0 You will strife.\u00a0\u00a0 Because of me, there will be division.\u00a0 Father will be against son-in-law; the son will be against his father.\u00a0 Mother will be against daughter.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OBSERVATION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The thing I think the lord wants us to understand after reading this chapter is everything that we do is being recorded somehow and will be presented in our heavenly court hearing at some point in the future.\u00a0 God wants us to know that he has the authority to sentence people to hell.\u00a0 The Lord wants us to know that he even knows how many hairs are on each one of our heads.\u00a0 The father cares for our needs.\u00a0 God wants us to know that he wants us to treasure things in heaven because where our treasure is our heart will also be.\u00a0 He is our greatest treasure.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

God wants us to know that Jesus promised us family troubles in this world because of him and this world is temporary and time is short.\u00a0 Are you treating the Lord above all else?\u00a0 Are you worrying about things n this life?\u00a0 God knows us and our needs.\u00a0 He said that first seek his kingdom and he will give us everything that we need.\u00a0 Perhaps, you don\u2019t believe that.\u00a0 I hope that you reconsider.\u00a0 There\u2019s still time to repent and obey his command to love him with all your being.\u00a0 You can ask God to change you.\u00a0 Anything apart from God will fail.\u00a0 Success follows anyone who gives God the first place.\u00a0 Yes, when your eyes are fixed on the righteous ways giving God priority in everything that you do, he will certainly bless you with manifold blessings.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRAYER<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blessed be your name. God thank you for all the blessings you have given me.  Thank you for the abundance that awaits me in heaven.  On earth help me to seek first your kingdom, not my wealth.  Teach me to expand your kingdom, not my own.  Help me to walk by your word, not by my selfishness.    <\/strong>Dear Lord, I thank you for the encouragement through these words.  I surrender myself to seek you always.  Help me to listen to your commandments.  Give me new ideas that would prosper me and my family.  I submit all my lacks to you.  Let me see your grace flood into all such areas.  For your glory, Make me a display of your grace.  Give me your wisdom.  I receive all the hidden blessings that you have for me.  In Jesus\u2019s name, I pray.  Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
