The fact that you are always unhappy and always offended shows that you are dealing with something greater than you understand.   There is a big culprit behind your misery and his name is Anger!!!

It can slowly transform you from an understanding, loving person to a Ranging, Vengeance-fuelled person seeking someone to explode upon!

This is not the life you want to live.  There is happiness at the end of the tunnel my brothers and sisters.

Ephesians 4: 26 from the New Living Translation says,

“Don’t sin by letting anger control you.  Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry.”

So, when we get hurt that hurt should lead us to think.   As our anger arises, we should take and dump it.   The Bible says, “Do not let the sun go down with you still angry.

These are important commands; that the Bible is giving us.  The Longer the person allows permissible anger to continue the greater the danger that it will develop into uncontrollable anger and produce sinful qualities and actions.

The longer you allow or entertain anger the greater the danger of it becoming uncontrollable and producing sinful qualities and actions.

That is why the Bible says,” Do not let the sun go down with you still being in Anger.”

I will set you some examples of what controllable anger is and how destructive it can be.

Genesis 4:5-8, New Kings James Version 25-27

And Jacob heard that he had raped Dina his daughter. Jacob heard that the young man the prince had raped his daughter Dina.

The sons of Jacob now came in from the field when they heard the news that their sister was raped.  The men the sons of Jacob not only grieved and just became angry but very angry.

The word anger it is suggests uncontrollable anger. Permissible anger is just anger but becoming very angry can quickly lead to uncontrollable anger which the sons of Jacob did.

And what was the result? Verse 25 says, “Now it came to pass on the third day.

Please listen carefully the Bible says that you should not hold your anger overnight, do not let the sun go down on your anger but the bible says on the third day these young men were holding their anger for three days.

And it wasn’t only angering the Bible says it wasn’t only anger but they were very angry. Uncontrollable anger for three days.  What was the result of that?

It says now it came to pass on the third day that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon, and Levi Dina’s brothers each took his sword and came boldly upon the city and killed all the males in the city over what one woman that got raped.

I am not demeaning the horror of rape but you just think about this.  Do you think that one rape deserved all the men in a town murdered?

Why did that happen? Uncontrollable anger is the answer.  It will take you and make you do things that you will regret afterward. That is why it is written to calm down your anger before the sun sets. These men held their anger for three days and as a result of that they didn’t just murder the man that raped their sister.

They murdered the man that raped their sister, they murdered the father of the man that raped their sister, they murdered all the brothers of the man that raped their sister and then they went and murdered all the men in the town because of one rape.

Another name for uncontrollable anger is an outburst of wrath.   Outburst of wrath is a sudden violent expression of a deep feeling of anger on the inside.  The outburst of wrath doesn’t happen daily.

If you suffer with the spirit of anger that doesn’t mean that you’re angry every day and this is where Satan gets the better part of us.

Something has to happen to trigger an outburst of wrath.  An outburst of wrath is like adding fuel to an already burning fire.

For most people, there are fires of past hurts burning deep within the soul.  These fires of hurt in their souls are fuelled by similar present hurts.

In other words, for example, somebody cursed you and you didn’t like it, there is a fire burning inside of you.   And months may pass sometimes even a couple of years and then somebody curses you again all of a sudden you become very angry.

Why? Because you are not only dealing with the curse that somebody told you today you are fuelling the hurt from two years ago that’s still on the inside.

And that became an outburst of wrath.  Seemingly out of nowhere, you lash out at someone.  Many times, someone hurt us.  They say something we don’t like.  But like the sons of Jacob even though they hurt us they’re the person know that they may have hurt us.

Why did he/she go on like a monster?  All I did was this….

What they didn’t realize is that the person they hurt lashed out at you because deep on the inside there was already a fire burning.  And because that fire was not healed what you said added fuel to that hurt and there was an outburst of wrath on you.

And you said to yourself I didn’t deserve what he/she did to me just because I did this but you’re getting the result of fuel that has been thrown on your fire burning already in your soul.

Persons who are troubled with uncontrollable anger outbursts of wrath please listen with your heart sometimes we people think that angry people are monsters going around every day with anger miserable, hateful, and just throwing words at you and mad with you oh it’s just the opposite.

People who are troubled with uncontrollable anger outbursts of wrath can seem like the most kind, gentle, quiet, humble person.

People that trouble with uncontrollable anger at initial confrontations would think wow I would like to be like that person.  So quiet, so calm, so peaceful, so humble so kind that is until you tick them off.

When you tick them off the bomb explodes and you’ll wonder where did that come from? I thought he/she was the nicest person in the world.

People who are troubled with outbursts of wrath initially meeting you would think they are a lamb.  They can’t kill a fly but the opposite is true.

Uncontrollable Anger is an open door to spirits.  This is where it gets critical.  This is where it gets really serious.  Uncontrolled anger is an open door to the spirit of anger.  We’re not now just dealing with permissible anger.

We are not now dealing with just a little uncontrollable anger.  We are now dealing with the door that was opened because of entertaining anger too often and now there is a person that is controlling anger within you.

A personality is a spirit called the spirit of Anger.

Ephesians 4:27 from the Passion translation

“Don’t give the slanderous accuser the devil an opportunity to manipulate you.”  In other words, to make you do what you don’t want to do.

Because when the spirit of Anger enters you no longer control your anger.  The spirit is the one that controls your anger.

Genesis 4:6-11 New living translation

“God said to Cain why are you so angry?”  Notice the word.  God didn’t say to Cain why are you angry He said,” Why are you so angry?”

Cain had already opened the door to the spirit of anger.  How do I know that?  Well, look at what followed.

God said why are you so angry? Cain, you will be accepted if you do what is right.

What is right to do with anger when you don’t let the sun go down on your wrath?  He says, “You will be accepted if you do what is right but if you refuse to do what is right then watch out Sin is crouching at the door ready to control you.   But you must subdue it and be its master.

In other words, God’s intent is for us to control so that the spirit will never control.  But when we open the door and the spirit comes in then the spirit controls.  What happens when the spirit controls?

One day Cain suggested to his brother “Let’s go out into the fields.’  While they were in the fields Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Who in their right mind would kill somebody?  You have to be out of your mind.  The mind has to be controlled by the spirit to murder somebody yet why did Cain end up murdering his brother Abel?

That’s not where it started.  Where it started was when he first disobeyed God.   Abel obeyed God.   Cain refused to obey God and he didn’t like when God favored Abel yet he had the same opportunity to be favored by God but because of disobedience, he didn’t.

When God rejected him, he became very angry.  When he became very angry, he opened the door to the spirit of Anger and the spirit of anger took over and he murdered his brother.

The end of the story tells us that even though Abel died, Cain ended up cursed for the rest of his life.

Remember anger is a God-created part of our emotion.   If you get angry that’s not a sin.  But if you do not control it becomes a sin.

Anger is a God-created part of our emotion called permissible anger.   Uncontrollable anger is a spirit, a person, or a demon that attaches itself to our permissible anger because we open the door.

So, our permissible God-created anger is still there but because the door is open the spirit of Anger comes in and attaches itself to our God-given emotion of anger and then he starts to control and make us do things that will harm ourselves and harm others.

Once the door has been opened to the spirit of Anger it will slowly destroy even your relationship with God.

The main intent of the spirit of anger, the foremost intent, the primary intent of the spirit of anger is to destroy the person who is oppressed by it.

Message Translation 1 Samuel 25 verse 2 and 3 and then verse 37 and 38

There was a certain man who carried on his business in the region of Carmel.  He was very prosperous.  The man’s name was Nabel.  The meaning of the man’s name Nabel means fool.

The man’s name was Nabel a kilobyte and his wife’s name was Abigail.  The man was violent and angry.  But in the morning after Nabel had sobered up his wife told him the whole story.

When King David had passed by Nabel had his empire and wanted some food and drink and Nabel the fool refused to give David.  David being king was going to kill him because of his disrespect.

But his wife Abigail rushed out on a horse and went out to meet the king, begged the pardon for her husband, and took food and drink.   The Bible says that David decided not to kill Nabel.

That same night Nabel got very drunk and when he woke up the following morning and was sobering up his wife told him the whole story of what she did.    Right then and there he had a heart attack and fell into a coma and ten days later died.

How come he had a heart attack?  Heart attack is triggered many times by high blood pressure.  What causes high blood pressure? Anger is your answer.

The man got so angry his pressure hit the roof, he had a heart attack and he died.  The primary intent of the spirit of Anger is to destroy the person whom it controls.  But it doesn’t stop there.

The secondary intent of the spirit of anger is to destroy others around you.

1 Samuel 16: 14 from the Easy read version

The Lord’s spirit left Saul.  Then the Lord sent an evil spirit to Saul that caused him much trouble.

Why did God’s Holy Spirit leave Saul?  Because he kept on rebelling against God over and over again.  He disobeyed God.   Finally, God decided I would remove my Holy Spirit and I would allow an evil spirit to come in.

In Chapter 18:7-11 from the Living Bible

The people were singing a song.  Saul has slain his thousands but David has ten thousand in other words the people were attributing greater victory to David than to King Saul.

Remember there was already an evil spirit upon him.  So, from that time on King Saul kept a jealous eye on David.   In other words, he stored his anger.   He didn’t release his anger but he stored it.

The Bible says when he heard the people singing because David wasn’t King yet it was Saul that was still king.  But God had already denounced him.  You’ll be king no more.

Saul heard the woman especially singing that David’s land had tens of thousands and Saul only a thousand.  The Bible says, that King Saul became angry and held the anger and he started to I David.  What does that mean?

That means I am waiting for an opportunity to hurt You.   Verse 10 says the very next day a tormenting spirit overwhelmed Saul and he became angry like a madman.  The individual who has outbursts of anger many times doesn’t know how bad their anger is.

It’s the person around them that knows how bad their anger is.  The Bible says here that Saul became very angry, the door was already open.  The spirit of anger got in and what happened Saul became a madman.  Verse 11 Suddenly Saul hurled his spear at David intending to kill him.

But David jumped aside and escaped.  When the spirit of anger is in control firstly it wants to try and destroy the person whom it controls.   Secondly, it’s going to try to destroy the people around the person who has the spirit of anger.

Note in the above verses the spirit of anger works hand in hand with the spirit of Torment which is personal mental torment.

The spirit of Torment works hand in hand with the spirit of anger.  Why would a person become uncontrollably angry? Because they are having mental torments.

The devil the spirit of anger is feeding their minds and their souls with all kinds of things that have happened and that torment when the spirit of anger rises within them causes them to become mentally unstapled.

Signs that the uncontrollable Spirit of Anger may be working in your lives too.  The list I am about to share does not suggest that all these threats are present in your life but maybe one or maybe two or three may be present.

Signs that the uncontrollable Spirit of Anger may be working in your lives

  1. Foul language

You don’t curse but the moment you get mad foul language comes out of your mouth.  Bad words, cursed words, profane, vulgar language are quite interesting in the younger generation today.  Ephesians 4:29

An indicator that you may have the spirit of anger that controls your outburst of wrath.

  • Bitterness, resentment, hatred, strong dislike, wrath, slander meaning defamation, false statements about others

Other indicators that the spirit of anger may be at work in you are rebellion, stubbornness, disrespect to authority, and unforgiveness.  Fights and arguments that progressively get worse

Identifying the root cause of anger

  • A familiar spirit of anger passed down through your bloodline, especially through your parents.

That’s why I call it familiar spirits.  If you know your dad or mom and you know that they were angry or are angry people that passed right into you when you were born that is called a familiar spirit of anger.

I am highlighting the word spirit it’s a person it’s not you.  It’s a person working in you.

  • Ancestral curse passed down through your ethnicity.

Something to understand about the inherited Spirit of Anger is that they don’t get activated until a certain time in your life.

  • Past hurts and guilts

Anger erupts when new offenses remind us of past hurtful experiences in our lives.  If you have done anything wrong in your life and others got hurt by it, the guilt of that can let the spirit of anger enter.

If you have had bad hurts in your life none of us were free from.  We live in a broken world these hurts also generate anger.

Most people assume that hurtful events in the past will be forgotten and will have no effect on our future.  But that is not true.

Past hurts do not go away nor does guilt simply disappear after a wrong response to a situation unless these experiences are resolved through repentance and forgiveness, we will continue to experience outbursts of anger when our buttons are pushed.

What I mean by buttons.  Little buttons in your emotions that sore hurt that if by chance somebody presses that button you become boisterous.

When we become angry, we should identify the past experiences and personal failures that are contributing to our present frustration and seek to resolve them.

Usually, the stronger the anger in a person means that there is more pain and guilt from the past
