WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT MAKEUP
AND OTHER KINDS OF STUFFS
TO MAKE A WOMAN PRETTY.
The biblical meaning of inner beauty
The Bible tells us our beauty is not measured by the clothes we wear or how we look. Instead, we have inner beauty which is based on who we are, not what we look like.
What does the scripture say about true beauty?
The most important bible verse is from 1 Peter, “what matters is not your outer appearance – the styling of your hair, the jewellery you wear, the cut of your clothes – but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty that is the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in.
God’s description of a woman in the bible?
The biblical woman is gospel-centred. She is created, redeemed, blessed, and gifted to be a blessing to those around her. In the book of Proverbs, a woman is clothed with strength and dignity; She can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instructions are on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” We need to address the intention behind the use of makeup. What intentions do you have when you get dressed for church, gym, or work? What thoughts run through your mind when you are planning a night out with your friends? Are you dressing to impress others or is your identity found in God? We must remember where our truth in identity lies. Our worth is found in Christ. When we forget, we open up believing the lies of the world. “I am ugly without makeup.” I am not pretty enough”. “I am not pretty as her.” God has crafted our hearts in his likeness. He wants our identity, confidence, and, security to come from the foundation as his daughter not how we enhance our looks. As the scripture states, God “looks at the hidden person of the heart”, and that is” very precious in the sight of God. “God does care about your outward appearance too. But he cares about your heart more. He carefully crafted and wove you together in your mother’s womb. He took care to create an eye colour hue for your hair and even planned how would look lie right down to the very placement of your freckles. When we put on makeup, we need to be careful that it doesn’t become an idol. Scripture warns us that we should never focus so much on the outside appearance at the cost of neglecting our insides. When we do it leads to more believing lies, creates self-worth issues, and more sin. As daughters of God, we are free to wear makeup so long as we do so with pure motives. Always remember God cares so much about the beauty of your soul. He wants us to dress in his love and character so that we reflect him. Ultimately, we are his masterpieces his creations.
He is the ultimate artist who fashioned us and called us very good. Tell me, my dear sisters. How can you stand in front of God your father with mini skirts and dresses, exposing your body parts? He will feel very bad. Dress with modesty. If we are dressing to attract people’s attention remember the people who watch us and their hearts and eyes are filled with lust. We are making them commit adultery in their hearts. And if we are causing them to sin by our way of dressing then believe we are equally at fault and will be punished. A woman should cover her head when she is in church. She should dress decently. Do you think bikinis, short dresses, and dresses exposing body parts does it reflect that we are Children of God? You may not agree with me. But I believe in speaking the truth no matter what. In anyways are we reflecting God’s character? God wants us to be examples to others not follow the world. If you think you are not beautiful? You are questioning your God’s creation. Can God’s creation be ugly and horrible? We use multiple products just because we want fair skin tone etc, excessive makeup, etc. Don’t please the people of this world who will love your outer beauty and then after someone time, their interest fades away instead enhance your inner beauty where people love to be with you for what you are (inner qualities even when we die people may say for a while “she was cute, beautiful and charming and may forget. The most talked about even we die is our character and the way we lead our lives, and our qualities will always be talked about.

1 Peter
Do not let your adorning be external. The braiding of your hair and the putting on of gold jewellery, or the clothing you wear but let our adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.
1 John 2:15-16
Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. For all that is in the world the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life are not from the father but are from this world.

And you, o desolate one, what do you mean that you dress in scarlet, that you adorn yourselves with ornaments of Gold, that you enlarge your eyes with paint? In vain you beautify yourself; your lovers despise you; they seek your life.

Isaiah 3: 16-26
The Lord said: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walked with outstretched necks, glancing wantonly with their eyes, mincing along as they go, tinkling with their feet, therefore the lord will strike with a scab the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the lord will bare their secret parts. On that day the lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents; the pendants the bracelets and the scarves the headdresses, the armlets, the sashes the perfume boxes and the amulets.

1 Timothy 2:11-14
Let a woman learn quietly with all her submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
