God's Calling/Will - Holy Spirit Fire

Greeting!!

Jonah 1-4

Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,

Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

Jonah is portrayed as a recalcitrant prophet who flees from God’s summons to prophesy against the wickedness of the city of Nineveh. As the story is related in the Book of Jonah, the prophet Jonah is called by God to go to Nineveh (a great Assyrian city) and prophesy disaster because of the city’s excessive wickedness.

Jonah does not want to prophesy, because Nineveh might repent and thereby be saved. So he rushes down to Joppa and takes passage in a ship that will carry him in the opposite direction, thinking to escape God.

God called Jonah to let the people of Nineveh to know that God is angry with you,

Let’s see this in our Time-

Our neighbours are upset not happy or he drink everyone
Someone has Cancer
Husband is beating to his wife and children
Peoples do not have food to eat.
Doctor said to some one you have very less time.
Some one unable to Succeed interviews
Someone does not have Job
Someone is under depression
Someone is demons possessed.
Father does not have money for Good study.
Someone is mentally ill.

Above are some examples for our situation, which takes place in most of people lives.

Same happened with Nineveh peoples they are were free from sins and God’s wrath when Jonah preached about God, Jonah was called by God to go to that city but Jonah denied and God does not choose any one else in place of Joana.

Verse- 4 But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.

However, God reminded Jonah to sent Great wind over sea and punished in for 3 days to put him in the belly of fish.

Verse-17

Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Then Jonah scared of Lord God and prayed out of fish belly, and said I cried by reason of my affliction to the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and you heard my voice. For you had cast me into the deep, in the middle of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all your billows and your waves passed over me.

Then I said, I am cast out of your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple. As he repented God had mercy on him and Lord spoke to fish and it vomited out Jonah on dry Land,

God wanted Jonah to preach for the people are in trouble, God heard their cry and called Jonah and he wanted to go out of God’s will !

This may be with us as well, when someone cry out to Lord he hears the pray and he whisper us to pray for those people or to preach them Good News, It is not important that those people should be Christian, or Jesus Followers then God will ask us to pray for them

Remember he is the Lord of All flesh, he does not say for Christians only, He sent his only son to die for whole world not for particular religion, any one can cry to Lord and He is the one and only God,

When he is the one only God so he would listen the cry of the people once they would ask for healing from God, it does not matter whether they know Jesus or not,

However, Jesus knows everyone by his name

Isaiah 43:1

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.

When God whisper us we ignore and moved ahead because we do this it’s not an urgent but God knows someone is crying out to me, ( Hey is there any God who can help me) When things are good he will whisper when things are not god he will scold and punish you so you can listen to God, It may be last week or last day for the person calling to God and God asking you to talk to him and pray over him but we do not hear him, we must understand some one is in big problem that why God is whispering to us, before problem gets bigger we must obey the Lord.

Problems is our life happens when we are out of God’s call and will, Jesus was on cross because he was in will of God and he was also in 3 days grave because he was in will of God, Jonah was in fish belly because he was out of God’s call and will.

Joseph was in jail because he was in will of God two men were with Jesus on cross because there were out of God’s well !

Samsun was in jail because he was out of God’s will

God did not wanted Jonah to punish he punished him because he wanted to wake him up so he can preach in Nineveh and they all would repent,

Lets see what happed after this-

So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. For word came to the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do to them; and he did it not.

God forgiven them, He listen the cry and pain of Nineveh people same may be with near you, I would say we must listen the God so they all can live happily when any one is in deep distress he calls the real god because at that big distress soul is weeping and soul belongs to Lord.

Any time you can understand when you are in deep pain in your body, soul also weep and feel the pain and calls to real God whether you know him or not but your soul knows him,

Never ignore God’s calling!
